Rewarding talent to embrace inclusiveness

Women account for half of Dompé’s top management and close to 50% of the company’s overall staff is female and quite young (68% are under 30). This young and progressive environment is what you’d expect in a rapidly evolving, innovative, and inclusive organization, but what Is striking is that these numbers aren’t the result of specific gender policies. The fact that women are well represented at all levels of the business comes from a deliberate choice to reward talent and merit.

With figures as Chief Operation Officer Eriona Gjinukaj, Global Biotech Head Ashley Kline, and Chief Industrial Officer Annaletizia Baccante at the helm, the executive front line of the company provides growing proof that rewarding competence and managerial talent can act as a catalyst to spark change and growth.

With a turnover doubled in the last five years thanks to innovative products and new international markets, the 130-year-old company is further proof of how gender diversity and talent attraction are synergic. The statistics regarding companies at the top of the S&P500 index show that those with greater gender diversity achieve better organizational and economic performances, with a higher ROE (return on equity or, as in this case, a better return on human capital) of up to 15% over the industry’s average and an EBIT that is almost up by 100%.

Dompé’s management is highly competitive and result-driven but has bought into a vision that a better life quality for all, both men and women, can boost the achievement of company goals in terms of product performance and economic growth.

In the last years, the concept that people’s lives can be improved by progressive leadership, coupled with a culture of investment in continuous learning, listening, and dialogue, is producing tangible outcomes. While management keeps its ears to the ground on evolving trends, there is a positive impact on the lives of employees and their families.

Team building and soft skills underpin the change management strategy pursued by the Chief Operating Officer of Dompé pharmaceuticals, Eriona Gjinukaj, who came on board in 2018. In the three years spent with the company, her mantra has promoted a listening and sharing culture. Three years in which the capacity to delegate has expanded at all levels to foster responsibilization and professional growth for all teams.

“I am enthusiastic to be part of such a forward-looking company. Today, Dompé is founded on such principles as talent motivation, the sharing of results, and the capacity to address challenges as one close-knit team,” says Gjinukaj “I feel proud, as a woman and as a manager, to see how many female colleagues are now in key positions in Dompé.”
