"We are committed to ensuring that our Foundation serves as a reference point for the promotion and expansion of scientific knowledge and innovation, by supporting access to advanced education and fostering cross-disciplinary exchange and cutting-edge academic paths such as those offered in Pavia.” With these words, President Sergio Dompé summarized the deeper purpose of the Dompé Foundation's mission, which has renewed its commitment to the University of Pavia through the establishment of a new €225.000 fund to support doctoral research programs.


The announcement was made during a ceremony held on June 11th at the Department of Drug Sciences at the University of Pavia, on the occasion of the naming of a classroom in honor of Franco Dompé, graduated in Pavia in 1937 and a central figure in the history of the family business. The new program will finance, over three years, three doctoral scholarships for the PhD in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Industrial Innovation, starting from the 2026/2027 academic year.


This initiative marks a further step in a collaboration that began in 2021, which has already seen the Foundation support young talents enrolled in the English-taught master’s degree programs in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies and Industrial Nanobiotechnologies for Pharmaceuticals. With this new fund, the Dompé Foundation's total contribution to the University of Pavia now amounts to €825.000.

During the event — attended by Rector Francesco Svelto along with several current and former scholarship recipients — the significance of an educational model that integrates scientific excellence, international outlook, and social responsibility was highlighted. A model in which knowledge emerges as a strategic infrastructure for the future — and where the personal story of an entrepreneur becomes a catalyst for new opportunities.
